Code Complete 4.0 Beta is now available for download for subscribers. There are two versions of the install, one that supports Silverlight 2.0 and CSLA.NET 3.6.x and another that supports Silverlight 3.0 and CSLA.NET 7.0.

Installation:

Code Complete 4.0 will install side by side with previous version and can run in parallel.

New Features:
•Silverlight: using Code Complete you can now generate fully functional Silverlight applications in minutes! For each configured data source Code Complete generates a search and a data entry user control. It also generates additional classes to support navigation and a main page with built in menu to navigate within the application.
•Business Layer: Support for CSLA.NET 3.7 and CSLA.NET Light. When you choose to generate a Silverlight application, Code Complete will generate a Silverlight business class library based on the CSLA.NET Silverlight framework.
•Support for Microsoft Enterprise Library 4.1: The validation rules generated by Code Complete use the validation service in the Microsoft Enterprise Library.
•Data Source Wizard: some of the dialog boxes have been redesigned to use the property grid.
Promotion:

We currently have a 20% discount. You can purchase Code Complete for just 199 Euros ($270) and you will automatically get one year free subscription. During the year you will be entitled to free upgrades (major and minor) and will be automatically enrolled in Beta testing, including the Silverlight the current Beta release.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

When do you expect the 4.0 RTM to be available?

We are looking towards the beginning of September for the RTM. It will include support for the Entity Framework and NHibernate.

Quick and probubly stupid question...

Generated code has a using directive too:

Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.ExceptionHandling

I've loaded Enterprise Library 4.1 (October) but I do not see a dll that I can add for this reference.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Ed L

The dll can be found in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Enterprise Library 4.1 - October 2008\Bin folder if you have installed the Enterprise Libary.
Alternatively, you can find it under the install folder of Code Complete, C:\Program Files\Eurowise\Code Complete 4.0\Microsoft Enterprise Library.
