I am pleased to announce that the Beta 2 version of 5.0 is now available for download. The exciting good news is that it includes a fully functional Visual Studio Add-In for VS2010 that will generate fully functional ASP.NET 3.0 applications with support for Razor engine!

We have started the next sprint for the final Beta before the final release. The Beta 3 will deliver support for Silverlight, WPF and MVVM.

For information The Beta version is only available for subscribers.

Looking forward for your feedback.

Philip

The final Beta will be released around the end of October and the final RTM will be released a month later.

HI Marc,

We have decided not to release a Beta 3 and to go for the final release in the new year. The reason for the delay is to give us more time to work on the support of the Code First & Model First included in the release of the entity framework 4.1.

I will be sending a news letter in few days with more details on the reelase.

Regards

Philip

We are going through the final stages of the testing and putting the final touches to the documenation.
We are aiming to have a candidate release on the 20/02/2012.

For info this release will now support developing applications with and without CSLA. As an example, Code Complete will now provide support for developing applications using the Entity Framework code first and model first or NHibernate as "your domain layer".

More info will follow near the release.

Yes, the release date is set for the 12th of March!

All the templates that will come with Code Complete 5.0 are customizable. In addition, Code Complete now supports a stereotype called Common Type. It is a class type that you can add to your models and each common type is associated with its own template that a user has to write. As an example you can add a common type named LogUtility to your domain model and Code Complete will add a template named LogUtility.tt to your template library that you can edit and modify. You can then just right click on the added common type and generate code from it. Using this you can build a set of custom templates.

Regards

Philip
